Every Wednesday, Chase Christian of Encrypted Text invites you to enter the world of shadows, as we explore the secrets and mechanics of the Rogue class. This week, we discuss some of the logic behind a few of the popular Rogue mantras.
While I was on the WoW Insider show last weekend, a question came up regarding weapon speeds and poison selection for a Combat Rogue. I answered the question in detail, and after finishing my wow goldexplanation, I realized that I sounded more like an algebra teacher than a gamer. There is a lot of math involved in mastering the Rogue class.
While spreadsheets provide exact numbers for DPS and gear comparison, it’s often that a Rogue is unable to take the time to run the numbers for every weapon and gear combo. It’s important to have a firm understanding of HOW Rogues work, in order to make your own decisions without needing to consult the formulas. After the cut, I’ll be explaining a few of the current “Rogue axioms” in

There are two great articles over at the Lowered Expectations blog about him meeting Ghostcrawler during an event at his university. The posts are quite an interesting read and I highly recommend everyone heads over and checks wow goldthem out.
There’s some interesting tidbits that came out of his time with the Ghost:
Sindragosa will be playing a part in Patch 3.3
We shouldn’t expect a hero class in every expansion
Ghostcrawler was split down the middle on the Death Knight starting at level 55
Blizzard is interested in buffing up the old world levels to make them more interesting. He listed off (the top of his head): Darkshore, Stonetalon Mountains, and The Barrens.
Ghostcrawler is responsible for the many varieties of fish in the game. This makes sense.
Expect an expansion every 18 to 24 months
Again, I highly recommend you head over to Lowered Expectations and check it the full articles. They’re well written and quite informative.

Another great week on our podcast last Saturday. We welcomed a brand new voice in our newest writer, Lesley Smith, as well as a familiar old one in the great Alex Ziebart, and of course Turpster and I were on hand as usual. We talked about patch 3.1.1 and a few of the hotfixes that are going out lately, the server downtime and how it compares to past patches, what the new five-man instance might be, and of course the coming of a thing called Peggle.
We answered email as well — we talked about what to do when your guild didn’t have enough room in their raids, and we decided to contribute a prize to our friend Brigwyn’s Child’s Play auction: when his auction goes live May 1-7, you’ll have a wow goldchance to bid on a guest appearance on the WoW Insider Show. Given that you have Skype installed and a free Saturday afternoon around 3:30pm (and of course that you’re the highest bidder in the charity auction), you’ll be able to join Turpster and I

Oh my goodness. I can’t believe that I just now got the joke. The main character in Ninth Batter’s series is called “Nobody.” The title of the series is “Nobody Like You.” Get it? If it were Bob, the joke would be saying that it’s a “Bob Like You.”
Ninth Batter has released “Nobody Like You Episode 2.” It’s a short episode. The whole thing only runs about 3:00 minutes soup to nuts, including the final credits. According to the author, he just didn’t feel that more material “fit” in this bite sized piece. I think that makes sense, since the jokes in this skit do pretty well when they stand alone.
Arthas continues his emo trend, though now he’s coming across a little more like a distraught ex-boyfriend than a dark and gloomy master. Ninth has added a female to the cast, which I think will turn out well. Nobody needs someone to play off and interact with, besides just the tragic Arthas in

We’re listening in to your replies on Twitter about what you’re all planning to do when you log into 3.1 for the first time, and an astounding number of people are planning to go for the fishing mount. Yes, despite the fact that everything Blizzard has told us points to the Turtle mount obtained via fishing being extremely rare, lots of players are after it anyway. We’ve decided, then, to wish you luck. And to help you out, we’ll give you a few tips that just might help make the almost assuredly long, boring, clicking grind bearable.
1. Learn to fish (and cook). If you’re going to be fishing for the mount, you might as well learn to fish and cook while you do it. The mount itself drops from fishing pools in Northrend, so if all you’re doing is going for those, it’ll take you a little longer to level than just sitting in Stormwind and leveling fishing (which you can definitely do), but you might as well up your profession while you do it.

Every week, Spiritual Guidance will offer practical insight for priests of the holy profession. Your host today is Alex Ziebart who doesn’t have as many cool links to plug up here as Matticus does but will try anyway. This week we get our Shadowform on..
Dual specs are coming, probably only a week away, and I suspect that many Holy and/or Discipline Priests out there will be picking up a Shadow build as their second spec. Priests, like most classes, can have many little build variations to fit your playstyle: Raiding, soloing, doing Battlegrounds, doing arenas, all of that. I’m going to look at a couple of good PvE specs to use in patch 3.1, but unfortunately avoiding the PvP specs for you arena junkies in our audience. Trust me, you don’t want to take my advice there. Discipline PvP maybe, but not Shadow.
PvE Shadow – Raiding
MMO-Champion has a great tool for setting up talent specs, because you can include your glyphs as well, so we’re going to be

I won’t mention the actual story so as to avoid spoiling fellow current or future fans, but in a certain non-Warcraft related story I am reading, a character seems to have died in the latest chapter I’ve read. It happens, but this character was easily my favorite in the series, so I’m sort of bummed more than usual at seeing a fictional character die. I’ve queued up my melancholy song playlist on Winamp and everything.
Now in World of Warcraft, loss is a pretty apparent them as well. The loss suffered by nearly every sentient race to the scourge, the fall of the High Elves, the fall of the Broken, it seems like every PC race on WoW has experienced some loss or seen some great hero fall. In addition, sometimes there’s the smaller losses as well. Like, say, giving up Archeus for a weapon with an inferior backstory and proc.
So what losses in World of Warcraft have left a mark on you? Is there a certain story of loss in the lore that especially resonates

Blizzard never fails to exceed expectations on April Fool’s Day — in the EU, they reported on a brand new Pimp My Mount option (featuring tiger-mounted gatling guns), over on the forums, they RP’d the place up a bit, and now on the North American page, they’ve announced the game’s newest feature: a Dance Battle system. They say that sometime soon in the game (that is, if this wasn’t April 1st), players will be able to have dance-offs around the world, culminating in a huge dance tournament to take place in Kael’thas quarters in Tempest Keep. Wait, isn’t that guy dead? Players will be able to form crews, which can then battle each other using player controlled dance moves and a vehicle-like interface.
Of course, none of it is true, which is an extra poke in the heart to fans who really are waiting for the new dance system. We doubt it’ll have a battle component, but the interface and the rewards are pretty intriguing — so
